In a press release published today, Maine announced Russian-backed ransomware gang exploited a vulnerability in the third-party file transfer tool, MOVEit, used by the state. The Maine government says it is in the process of notifying the estimated 1.3M Maine residents impacted by the security breach. The incident happened on May 28 and 29. The State shared information about the event and what residents can do to determine if their personal information was part of the incident.
